Ignite Digital Talent have recently become accredited by APSCo. In this article, we will give you some more information about what it means for us!

Accreditation: “The action or process of officially recognizing someone as having a particular status or being qualified to perform a particular activity”.

“Official”, “status” and “qualified” are the buzzwords here, and badges we are proud to wear at Ignite Digital Talent. We are proud to be members of The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (or APSCo from here on in!).

Who are APSCo?

APSCo was formed in its current capacity in 2009. Since that time, they have grown their member numbers from 134 to over 850. Prior to that, they traded under the name of  ATSCo ( The Association of Technology Staffing Companies). At that time provided a separate voice for recruitment firms within the IT sector. Today, they are the only trade body dedicated to the recruitment sector. They can boast an impressive 30+ years in the recruitment industry. Throughout their illustrious lifetime, they have expanded their reach across the globe to include operations in Germany, Singapore and even as far afield as Australia.

Their success can be attributed to a clear mission and honourable brand values. They commit to delivering expert support for their members whilst raising standards and value across their stakeholders. They are based on core values of respect, integrity, success, thought leadership and strong affiliate relationships, This all contributes to and helps maintain a strong and unifying voice amongst its members.

Why APSCo accreditation?

At Ignite Digital Talent, we pride ourselves on sharing these attributes with APSCo. Throughout our business journey, we have been committed to working with these values at the heart of everything we do. Our motivated, professional and passionate team have created, developed and continue to maintain solid relationships with our candidates and clients.  In fact, many of our clients use us exclusively to fill their roles. We are proud to have successfully placed some incredible candidates with some hugely reputable brands. These include The AA, Funding Circle, GAME Digital and Clarks.

We have huge plans for Ignite Digital Talent. Accreditation with a professional body such as APSCo is the next natural step on our business journey.

Wearing our APSCo badge sends a message to our clients and candidates. It is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to, and intentions of excellence. For our candidates, it demonstrates our competence and professional capabilities in making lucrative and advantageous placements. For our clients, it is a ringing endorsement of prior success and reputability. Companies who wish to be considered for accreditation undergo a robust external quality audit to become part of APSCo.

Not only is it of note to our external partnerships, but it’s also crucial to Ignite Digital Talent as a business of high aspiration. It establishes a framework under which our current team are proud to work, and are held accountable for their professional conduct. Expansion and business growth are at the forefront of the Ignite Digital Talent mind. APSCo membership will encourage only a certain calibre of recruitment talent to join our team. It sends a direct statement as to our expectation of conduct; one that is endorsed by our unfailing standards of polished professionalism.

Birds of a Feather…

“A partnership with APSCo was a natural choice for us, and somewhat of a no-brainer! Quite apart from being in tune with our brand values, their commitment to corporate responsibility was highly appealing. The work they have done with charities, and their commitment to promoting workforce diversity was hugely attractive and something that we at Ignite Digital Talent hold in high esteem”

Nicola Alexander.

Founder, Ignite Digital Talent.

The APSCo commitment to social corporate responsibility is solid, and one that echoes throughout their business practice. Since their inception in 1999, APSCo has partnered NSPCC/Childline. Through high profile member events such as black tie functions and football tournaments they have raised over £2 million for these incredible charities. We too at Ignite Digital Talent are especially proud of the work we do alongside our not-for-profit friends. Our specialist digital recruiters have worked alongside such organisations as Autistica, Leonard Cheshire Disability and Vinspired – providing tech and marketing talent to the third sector.

Our values

Diversity in recruitment, but also amongst the specialist tech and digital workforce is a cause which is close to the heart of Ignite Digital Talent. Hence why we were drawn to APSCo’s Diversity Commitment. This public promise by APSCo and its affiliate members is designed to improve recruitment diversity across the professional recruitment sector. APSCo works closely with diversity partners, such as the Business Disability Forum to produce practical advice and guidance on achieving diversity in recruitment.

Additionally, in 2015, APSCo was instrumental in relaunching “Women in Recruitment”, an initiative designed to promote gender equality across the recruitment sector.

Ignite Digital Talent has had the privilege to create and maintain some enduring professional relationships with both clients and candidates. Our partnership with APSCo is one of the most recent, but one that we hold in truly high regard. It is our belief that our respect for the recruitment industry and those who use it will only be elevated by the support and resources which APSCo provides its members. We are excited about the next stage of our journey and feel reassured we can walk our path, shoulder to shoulder with a companion of such high esteem.
