You can find podcasts covering pretty much everything, from true crime to extensions of your favourite TV shows. 1. Chips with Everything

The first of our favourite tech podcasts is Chips with Everything. Chips with Everything is a tech podcast from the Guardian and is hosted by Jordan Erica Webber. Each week, Jordan is joined by experts to answer lots of the most pressing questions surrounding digital culture.

  • Summer camps in America aimed at teaching kids how to be the next YouTube sensation

Why we love it:

Chips with Everything covers lots of really relevant and pressing questions that we have about technology. It is very interesting having an expert to discuss how tech is impacting our lives and feelings. We love that it covers some of the darker sides as well instead of just discussing the benefits of technology.

2. Decrypted

Decrypted is hosted by Brad Stone from Bloomberg Technology and is a tech podcast looking at what happens behind closed doors. The podcast has a team of reporters who explore hidden projects, quiet rivalries and uncomfortable truths in the tech world.

  • We people be safe from 2020 election hacking?
  • The environmental impact of online retailers like Amazon

Why we love it:

Similarly to Chips with Everything, Decrypted tackles lots of really tough tech issues. The fact the podcast has its own group of reporters means that it uncovers lots of topics that we otherwise wouldn’t find out about.

3. How I Built This with Guy Raz

How I Built This is a podcast about the stories behind some of the world’s best-known companies, presented by Guy Raz. The podcast is a narrative of some of the most pioneering innovators and entrepreneurs. The companies that the podcast focuses on fill niche yet vital gaps in the market.

  • Stitch Fix – an online personal shopping service
  • Headspace – a guided meditation app
  • Shopify – eCommerce software
  • Yelp – a public review site
  • Bumble – a dating app where women make the first move

Why we love it:

Hearing the stories of how people started their companies is really inspiring. Some of the entrepreneurs had quite rough starts, so hearing how they turned their lives around is awe-inspiring. Lots of the companies are household names so it’s also really interesting to hear how they started.

4. The Future of Everything

The Future of Everything is a tech podcast by the Wall Street Journal. It looks at how science and technology are revolutionising our lives. The podcast has an award-winning team of journalists, so the topics and interviews are well researched and interesting.

  • The rise of mobile payments
  • The future of driverless cars

Why we love it:

So many of the episodes look to the future so it is really exciting to think about what the future may hold. Some of the topics may seem quite daunting, but they are very important developments for the future of humanity. As the planet struggles to provide enough to keep up with human demand, science and tech need to provide answers. This podcast gives us an optimistic view of the future and everything science and tech are doing.

Why we love it:

The podcast is fantastic because some of the advice that they give can actually be applied to your business. Lots of the episodes focus on huge household name companies so it’s fascinating to learn what they’re doing. It’s also great for case studies of the practical applications of emerging tech.

Tech podcasts are a fantastic way to keep yourself up to date with what is happening in the digital world. They’re entertaining, informative, and a great way to make the information digestible.

Each of the tech podcasts we’ve written about has a slightly different approach and provides a unique insight. The tech world is diverse and innovative; however, we don’t fully understand the effects it has on our lives yet. It is very exciting to explore where it could take us in the future.
