We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Software Engineering and Development Manager with a passion for working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, applying technology to deliver exceptional user-facing digital solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a full-stack, agile team producing several user-facing products including native Android & iOS apps, a customer facing website and various CMSs.
First and foremost, you will be responsible for the growth & development of the team of engineers. In addition, you will play a pivotal role in shaping divisional strategy and capacity planning.
You will have a keen interest in organisational design and what makes high-performing teams’ tick. Not only this, but you will also enjoy overcoming obstacles arising from engineering growth and how these can inhibit high-performance.
You will also build on your people skills and leadership, finding innovative ways to level up yours and other teams creating a culture of trust, experimentation, and innovation.
You will work closely with your team’s product managers and engineers to deliver against challenging objectives, keeping alignment with key stakeholders.
Skills and experience required.
Reporting to the CTO you will need enough engineering experience to contribute to technical and architectural discussions and be empathetic towards existing challenges. Your team will work on a modern tech stack that includes TypeScript, React Native, Next.js front-ends, Kubernetes orchestrated microservices, GraphQL, GCP with Postgres the favoured RDMS so you should have exposure to leading teams working with many or similar of these technologies.
You should have:
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment.

- Effectiveness in developing and enabling Engineers
- A track Record of leading teams
- Confidence when contributing towards non-critical path code changes

This is an immediate requirement and all interviews and onboarding will be conducted remotely and ongoing longer term flexibility around home working and hours will also be provided ideally on a hybrid 2/3 day split between home and office working post covid.
