Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for talented senior software engineers to join an organisation on a mission to rebuild the infrastructure of investments and advice.

The role.

As a senior software engineer, you’ll be working in one of our client’s amazing cross-functional squads.  Your experience in Javascript, Typescript, and Node will bring fuel to the work. By delivering quality code to the production, you’ll make impactful improvements to both the product and system.

Your seniority will help you to mentor your colleagues and enable you to adapt and embrace the work as part of a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

In the role of Senior Software Developer, you’ll be

  • Working in a domain-aligned cross-functional squad made up of developers, testers, and designers along with colleagues from our product, customer, and operations teams
  • Building and implementing a range of developments
  • Hands-on in terms of software development, testing, debugging, deployment, and support
  • Involved with software specification and documentation
  • Helping to develop and promote appropriate processes and best practices.

On top of this, you’ll be able to demonstrate

  • Experience in Node development in a fast-moving, agile environment
  • Experienced in full stack development in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with a good understanding of how to write high-performance, efficient code
  • Able to understand business requirements and turn this into efficient, scalable solutions, with a desire to learn our business domain
  • Experienced in writing thorough unit tests with the strong desire to ensure code is robust and reliable. Knowledge of continuous integration is required
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Experienced in document-based databases, specifically MongoDB
  • Experienced in Amazon Web Services, including Lambda, SQS, and SNS, and knowledge of Serverless environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to express new ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Organisation skills and be a strong team player
  • The ability to pick up new skills and technologies easily, and you’ll enjoy working on complex issues

Whilst some experience in wealth management or stockbroking is beneficial, it’s not essential.
