Our client is a leading global provider of enterprise scale customer care, billing software and data management systems. They are seeking a technically advanced Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in leading and managing a project or program in the Telco/Software industry.

The role.

Day to day, you will

  • Lead and manage the delivery of one or more projects or program of work across regions in line with agreed organisational objectives, strategies or industry change requirements.
  • Maintaining good relations with Client & Account Manager and third-party suppliers, keeping them aware of the status of the planned release schedule.
  • Lead people throughout the project:  You are always there in case any trouble appears and is a guide for the team in their tasks. You understand well (or works to understand if managing projects in other regions) the regional and corporate culture where clients operate, as that information can help guiding the project decisions and the need to establish relationships.
  • Focus on project’s outcome: Always thinking one step ahead of everyone else in the project, the PM is interested in ensuring that the project is aligned with the customer success vectors.
  • Add value to the project and team: You give the team’s work a meaning. You make people feel that their work is appreciated and important. You are always there for the team. You will recognise the need to escalate at the right time.
  • Report the progress:  You will be responsible for PMO interaction and for following the processes in place in the company, look after resource planning, project financials, delivering updates on the project progress, possible obstacles and decides on risk mitigation actions. Takes care of the business administration and related activities and synchronises work to meet the objectives, ensuring / creating a regular and standard flow of reporting that touches all relevant vectors for project success.
  • Direct project management across remit of responsibility to ensure the effective delivery of your projects.
  • Build, facilitate and maintain strong stakeholder and supplier relationships to support and enable service and project delivery; including understanding stakeholder requirements, collaborative management of issues and effective stakeholder sign off.
  • Represent the company at D and C level if so required: Able to establish a relationship and to articulate the arguments and the reasoning with regard to the project status, dependencies on customer and 3rd parties in a polite and effective manner and is recognized as a trusted advisor.

Skills and experience required.

  • A solid and successful commercial track record in project management within the software or telco sector with strong experience in Prince2 ideally certified
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines, managing various tasks at once, demonstrating resilience to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to develop, coach and empower a high-performance team.
  • A drive for continuous improvement – personally, professionally, and in a team environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing and delivering IT-based projects, within a cable/telco environment in the BSS/OSS software domains.
  • Product area knowledge (product catalog, order management and provisioning, commercial and residential voice, HSD, video).
  • Experience with software delivery using Agile methodology and VersionOne Agile tool preferred.
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent.
  • Hands on experience working with enterprise software.
  • Excellent project documentation skills and project accounting.
  • Experience working with off-shore delivery teams.
  • Experience working within a vendor/service-provider in a customer-facing project management role.
  • Responds quickly and proactively to customer needs.
  • Experience managing projects that include professional services with billable hours and fully utilised resources.
  • Experience of cloud infrastructures and cloud native technologies.

This role can be based 100% remotely from home within the UK both during and post covid.
