We are looking for a new Head of Infrastructure & DevOps to support a leading financial services company as it goes through a period of rapid growth.

Your work will support our client’s transition into a more agile organisation as they continue to improve their DevOps practices.

The role.

The Head of Infrastructure & DevOps manages parts of the IT infrastructure as well as the infrastructure technology strategy, execution and operations.
You will support the Head of Change and software delivery partners to ensure the smooth delivery of Change projects particularly through release and deployment management.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in DevOps techniques and has an understanding of the creation, execution and governance of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

The ideal candidate would be well-versed in cloud technology, especially Azure.

As Head of Infrastructure & DevOps, your key responsibilities would be to

• Oversee all IT operations including staff and infrastructure in conjunction with our partner company, to ensure quality services are provided to the business and all applications are secure
• Provide expert knowledge, experience and an innovative approach to support and develop the IT strategy ensuring it is continually appraised and updated to reflect the IT requirements to support the strategy of the business, improve the customer experience, and create efficiencies and scale
• Liaise with other departments, determining their IT needs and requirements, and be a key point of contact for the Executive Management Team
• Be responsible for all IT processes and identify and execute automation of processes where possible
• Work with our network infrastructure partners, providing cloud delivery and telephony network services to ensure the IT estate is reliable, efficient, and secure and leveraging best-in-class applications and services
• Develop a broad understanding of our software delivery partners and support the delivery of software and hardware operations and projects
• Ensure protection of the business environments through release and deployment management ensuring all changes are fully tested and approved before deployment
• Continue to adopt DevOps practices to ensure collaborative, efficient, well governed and rapid software deployments
• Build on the current release management process through the continued establishment of CI/CD pipelines, and adoption of DevOps processes working with external contractors where relevant
• Provide supplier management for a number of the partners supplying services to the business
• Empower and develop staff by setting clear objectives, coaching, delegating and providing appropriate feedback, holding at least monthly 1-2-1s, sensitively and effectively managing performance, ensuring they get the training and development they need and that they feel valued.

About you.

As Head of Infrastructure & DevOps, you will need to have the following experiences and skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience in hiring, managing and retaining a team of talented technology professionals
• Knowledge and preferably certification of cloud computing, ideally Azure
• Knowledge of Confluence and Jira
• Strong experience in management in an IT & infrastructure environment
• Solid communication and prioritisation skills
• Knowledge of DevOps techniques and Agile
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes
