We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst comfortable working within a fast-moving complex environment.
The role.
As part of an established and talented Change team, you will work on complex interdependent projects that either contribute to our client’s product roadmap or serve to improve its internal systems and processes.
- Collect, understand, and document business requirements/user stories for each project
- Design and document business processes and data flows
- Translate requirements into functional and non-functional requirements
- Collaborate with solution architects, IT architects, and business stakeholders to design solutions that meet the project objectives including scope, success criteria, and benefit realisation
- Ensure traceability of requirements through to the solution and alignment with success criteria
- Work with Project Managers/workstream leads to join up requirements and delivery plans
- Work with IT partners to agree solution designs
- Support vendor selection process (tendering, agreeing SLAs, warranty periods, outsourcing) where required
- Lead the design and documentation of operational procedures
- Support test preparation and execution
- Support project implementations including assisting in troubleshooting issues during each deployment and associated warranty period
- Work as part of a Business Analyst team to share best practice and insight, and support colleagues
About you.
We are looking for a results and value-oriented Business Analyst with the following skills and experiences.
You will have
- The ability to understand the wider business context (operating models, technology route map, corporate objectives) and relevance to each project. Experience working in Life and Pensions, with an understanding of the long-term insurance market is crucial.
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels within an organisation
- Strong teamwork, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Highly organised, structured, and able to work with Stakeholders in a virtual environment
- Willing to lead from the front
- Self-aware, open-minded with a high degree of personal and professional integrity
- Able to develop sound professional working relationships with the business, IT colleagues and partners, obtaining their confidence and developing approaches for how to work best with them
- Able to apply solid judgment in their area of expertise
On top of these, it would be an advantage if you had
- Experience working on large scale change programmes with multiple delivery partners
- Experience working with waterfall and agile methodologies
- Understanding of the IFA market
- Ability to work directly with developers
- Understanding of JSON and/or XML object models would be helpful
- Some SQL and XML knowledge would be helpful
- Experience with JIRA would be helpful
