Game Development Jobs: Skills, Tools and Experience in Demand
In terms of the technical side, good programming skills (C#, Java, C, C++, Assembly) is the most basic skill for game developers. You should also be familiar with development platforms (Unity, Construct 2, Stencyl, Twine, Quest). You should also be able to show your creativity (e.g. by creating game scripts or storyboards) in your portfolio. That being said, being comfortable with Photoshop/Illustrator and Visual Studio will be a great advantage on your CV.
