Software Development Manager / Digital Development Manager / Software Delivery Manager

A highly respected and established £1.5 billion global brand are currently undertaking a large group IT & Digital Transformation Programme. The creation of a new Digital Engineering team rooted in modern architecture, flexible tools and infrastructure, and blended with an Agile mind-set to deliver what their customers want and faster is very much the core of this transformation. Working with cutting-edge technology including the latest automation and DevOps tools and approaches, they’re constantly looking for ways to drive their business forward and so they can continue to deliver quality and ecommerce solutions at velocity constantly looking to improve the way we work and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

We are looking for individuals who are collaborative and passionate about enhancing new agile ways of working to achieve a step change in ability to deliver and exceed customer expectations.

As Digital Development Manager, you will plan and prioritise all development resources across the digital portfolio ensuring standards and deadlines are met within the team. You will also have responsibility to plan and facilitate execution of code branching for release cycles ensuring all stakeholders are fully informed on their role within that process.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • In depth knowledge of Agile working principles, practices and processes together with experience of modern development tools, processes and practices
  • A good understanding of the digital marketplace, trends, tools and innovations. Ecommerce experience is highly desirable but is not essential
  • The ability to make lead and inspire a great group of developers and making them greater. The ability to be an advocate of the Development within the company, getting them everything they need to be successful
  • You are a self-starter who seeks to continuously improve themselves and others, always seeking for a better, faster and more efficient way to deliver work
  • You will demonstrate your expertise in your chosen field giving confidence in your abilities by consistently delivering value while helping to build the understanding of others
  • Knowledge of DevOps delivery approaches and tools (Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Puppet)
  • Experience with Cloud based Infrastructure such as AWS and / or java based platforms would be beneficial but is not essential
